چکیده

In TREC 2013 Session Track, we experiment the Query Change Model (QCM) for session search on the new document collection ClueWeb12 CatB. We use structured query formulation and pseudo-relevance feedback for RL1. The QCM approach is used in RL2 and it studies query change between adjacent queries and models session search as a Markov Decision Process. We further add information from other sessions by a majority vote of cross-session clicked data to the model in RL3. Comparing the retrieval accuracy in RL1 with that in RL2 and RL3, we obtain 46.1% and 46.6% improvements, respectively. We present an analysis and discussion on the dataset difference between ClueWeb12 Cat A and Cat B, the difference between TREC2012 and TREC2013 session, and their impact on the retrieval accuracy.

Modeling Rich Interactions in Session Search - Georgetown University at TREC 2014 Session Track

This year we participate in the TREC Session Track Task 1. We adopt the Query Change Model (QCM), weighted QCM, re-ranking, clustering, and error analysis in our approaches. The QCM retrieval model is employed to combine all queries in a session. QCM allows documents that are relevant to any query in a session to appear in the final retrieval list. Weighted QCM combines queries unevenly based o...

BUPT_PRIS at TREC 2012 Session Track

In this paper, we introduce our experiments carried out at TREC 2012 session track. Based on the work of our group in TREC 2011 session track, we propose several methods to improve the retrieval performance by considering the user behavior information over the session, which includes use query expansion based on meta data, query expansion based on click order, optimization based on history rank...

Structured Query Formulation and Result Organization for Session

Complicated search such as making a travel plan usually requires more than one search queries. A user interacts with a search engine for multiple iterations, which we call a session. Session search is the task that deals with document retrieval within a session. A session often involves a series of interactions between the user and the search engine. To make use of all the queries and various i...

University of Essex at the TREC 2010 Session Track

This paper provides an overview of the experiments we carried out at the TREC 2010 Session Track. We propose an approach for interpreting reformulated queries by using query expansions derived from anchor logs which we envisage to be a potential alternative to query logs. We show that expansion with terms or phrases extracted from anchor logs improves the retrieval performance over a search ses...

SIRA: TREC Session Track 2014

1. Abstract This paper discusses Siena’s Interactive Research Assistant’s (SIRA) participation in the Text Retrieval Conference (TREC) Session Track of 2014. The overall goal of this track is to improve search results during query sessions based on a user’s behavior. Query sessions include many aspects of a search, including query topics, initial retrieved webpages, clicked on links, visit time...
